What MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 did to bad movies, BORED GAMERS is doing to all things gaming; as the hosts have fun as they examine the popular worlds of video and adult board games. In Bored Gamers every show is an adventure of nonsense as the arrested adolescent hosts debate and review games, challenge guests and reveal never before seen facets of games.
Synopsis
MILLENNIALS AND ADULTS ALIKE WILL LOVE BOARD GAMERS. Gaming enthusiasts Jim Devereaux and Greg Marshall are the hosts of Bored Gamers. Jim has garnered 5-star reviews for his stage performances, hosted radio shows and even raced motor cars. But his true passion is amassing game systems and he takes pride in building his own high-end gaming PCs. Greg has a penchant for dressing up as Santa, for non-deviant purposes, and also has a love for all things gaming, be it miniature, board or video. Greg founded the Wargaming Special Interest Group magazine.
Jim and Greg present Bored Gamers, a lively and light-hearted look at all things gaming, combining the exciting worlds of video and adult board games as they bring the viewers up-to-date on all the biggest releases - from the everyman point of view.
In the show, both hosts exude an easy-going style as they dissect the latest releases through their unique gauge the 'Boredometer,’ a tool to review the re-playability and longevity of game play. In short – the boredom threshold. The show also features reviews, previews, challenges, studio guests, debates, gaming conventions run-throughs, top picks, game of the year awards and much more.
In each episode a games industry or celebrity guest has to take on the Retro Video Game Challenge - as they vie to be crowned the first ever retro gaming champion. The show uses cutting-edge green screen technology to film the many unique gameplay sequences, incorporating the presenters in real-time in a way that has never been possible on television before - showing the viewers the very best view of every game played.
